Most Important Factor in Parenting: Genuine Love

Sad as it is, some parents do think that their children only need the essentials: food, water, shelter, and education, in order to make it through life. Unfortunately, this could not be farther from the truth. Children will not be able to grow up happy and healthy unless they are genuinely loved by their parents. Children have to feel important, special, and definitely irreplaceable. Otherwise, they would not be able to overcome this need to get affirmation. The tendency is that they would rely on bad relationships, rebellion, and possibly the use of bad substances to help them cope. Ultimately, they wont be able to know how to stand against peer pressure.

As it is, children often need the approval of their parents. However, as parents, we wont be able to provide them with this much approval on a constant level. So while the child is young, he or she must have all the approval at least and attention that we can give so that he or she will not need to constantly seek out approval so much.
